Come Play “Blood on the Clocktower”

Join Guest Gamer Guide Matt as he takes you through the thrilling social deduction game Blood on the Clocktower!

In the quiet village of Ravenswood Bluff, ‌a demon walks amongst you...

During a hellish thunderstorm, on the stroke of midnight, there echoes a bone-chilling scream. The townsfolk rush to investigate and find the town storyteller murdered, their body impaled on the hands of the clocktower, blood dripping onto the cobblestones below. A Demon is on the loose, murdering by night and disguised in human form by day. Some have scraps of information. Others have abilities that fight the evil or protect the innocent. But the Demon and its evil minions are spreading lies to confuse and breed suspicion. Will the good townsfolk put the puzzle together in time to execute the true demon and save themselves? Or will evil overrun this once peaceful village?

Blood on the Clocktower is a bluffing game enjoyed by 5 to 20 players on opposing teams of Good and Evil, overseen by a Storyteller player who conducts the action and makes crucial decisions. The goal of the game is to successfully deduce and execute the demons before they outnumber the townfolk.

During a 'day' phase players socialize openly and whisper privately to trade knowledge or spread lies, culminating in a player's execution if a majority suspects them of being Evil. Of a 'night' time, players close their eyes and are woken one at a time by the Storyteller to gather information, spread mischief, or kill.

The Storyteller uses the game's intricate playing pieces to guide each game, leaving others free to play without a table or board. Players stay in the thick of the action to the very end even if their characters are killed, haunting Ravenswood Bluff as ghosts trying to win from beyond the grave.

If you arrive late to a game, you can enter after it's started as a powerful Traveller character with unusual talents and questionable allegiances. Each character comes with their own special ability and no two players in a game are ever the same character.

Blood on the Clocktower is free with your paid admission.

WE TEACH WEDNESDAY: LIFE OF A CHAMELEON

Come join Guide Jess as she demos LIFE OF A CHAMELEON!

Our We Teach Wednesdays are a great chance to learn a new game without the pesky rule book reading. It’s also a great opportunity to meet new people or add to your gamer group.

If you participate in the We Teach event, you also can purchase the game at our shop for a 20% discount!

The Game

A chameleon’s life isn’t easy–constantly adapting to new environments and hiding from predators like snakes! It takes a lot of patience to sneak around and hunt bugs for food. No one truly appreciates the chameleon’s plight!

You are a chameleon just trying to make your way in this world, eating one bug at a time. Eat specific colors of bugs in the right order to win. Snatch tasty insects right out from under your opponents as you navigate the board fraught with dangerous snakes and other competitive chameleons.

Players take turns moving around the board to collect bugs of their same color. Throughout the game players roll to add more bugs to the board. As chameleons, players can change their own color in order to eat new bugs and pass safely by snakes of the same hue. The game includes 21 colored chameleon meeples for this very purpose.

As players start and complete objective cards they collect achievement cards which can help with additional actions or alternative ways to score. Whenever an objective is completed, the active player rolls a die and moves a progress marker along the game track. When the marker reaches the end, the game is over and all players tally their scores.

DEMO: Red Carpet

Join Gamer Guide Saunsu as she demos RED CARPET at Village Meeple!

The Game

The stars shine on the red carpet. Once again, the Academy Awards ceremony is held and as a photographer you have the goal of capturing the best portraits of the most famous figures from the golden age of Hollywood. Get a good spot, find the perfect angle and take the photos that will be on the front pages of all the newspapers tomorrow.

In Red Carpet, you play as a photographer who seeks to capture the best portraits of the celebrities who arrive in limousines and parade down the red carpet to the awards gala. Players will use their mobile phone, which they will place on pedestals around the board, to take the photos. Depending on a number of criteria (whether the celebrity is facing forward, whether they are in the foreground, whether there is advertising in the background, etc.), you will add or subtract points for each portrait. You will also influence the awards by voting for your favourite nominees in each category, and at the crucial moment of the awards ceremony, the value of the winners' portraits will be doubled.

In each turn, players will use cards to perform various actions, such as placing their tripod in a space in the press area or moving the characters parading down the red carpet. In addition to the celebrities, there will also be anonymous people in the scene, so it will be key to get the best angle to take the best portraits.

Our We Teach Wednesdays are a great chance to learn a new game without the pesky rule book reading. It’s also a great opportunity to meet new people or add to your gamer group.

If you participate in the We Teach event, you also can purchase the game at our shop for a 20% discount!

The Game

Working from the shadows, Mind MGMT once used its psychically-powered agents to put a stop to global crises. However, absolute power corrupts absolutely, and Mind MGMT is now rotting from the inside. To tighten its iron grip on the world stage, Mind MGMT deploys covert operatives around the world to recruit other psychically-attuned individuals to their side. How can this enigmatic organization, hell bent on global domination, be defeated?

Thankfully, a few renegade agents have figured out that Mind MGMT has been compromised and have defected, turning their backs on the syndicate. They now use their own psychic abilities to prevent Mind MGMT from achieving its nefarious goals.

In Mind MGMT: The Psychic Espionage "Game" one player controls Mind MGMT and must scour the city for new recruits. They move around on a secret map, trying to visit locations that match one of their three randomly drawn feature cards. They can also use their four Immortals to protect locations from being exposed.

All other players control the rogue agents who must try to stop Mind MGMT before it's too late! They ask questions to the Recruiter and deduce their whereabouts from the answers they receive. Rogue agents can use dry-erase "mental notes" to track all the information they're given.

Mind MGMT wins by either collecting twelve recruits or surviving sixteen turns. The rogue agents can win only by capturing Mind MGMT, which they do when they believe they're on the same block as Mind MGMT.

DEMO: KOINOBORI

Join Gamer Guide Saunsu as she demos KOINOBORI at Village Meeple.

The Game

Welcome to the fascinating world of Koinobori! Immerse yourself in this experience as you explore the beauty and tradition of colorful Japanese kites. In this game, you'll have the opportunity to design and customize your own koinobori mast and embark on a journey through Japanese culture. Are you ready to elevate your dreams like the koinobori do in the sky?

In the game, each player will have their own personal mast, and in the center of the table will be the festival masts, one more than the number of players in the game. There will also be a row of koinobori cards on the table for players to draw from. During a player's turn, they can choose one of these three options:

  • Place a koinobori card on the festival masts: Play a koinobori card on one of the masts. At the end of the game and on each mast, only the color of the koinobori with the most presence on that mast will score points.

  • Place a koinobori card on their personal mast: Play koinobori cards face down on your mast. Each card on your mast will improve your abilities. Be aware that the koinobori you place on your mast will determine your score.

  • Draw koinobori cards: Take a card from the ends of the row of koinobori on the table. Improving your abilities will allow you to draw two cards or not just from the ends.

The game ends when the festival masts are completed, and at that point, the scoring phase begins. Within each mast, it is determined which color of koinobori is most repeated, and each player will earn a number of points equal to the multiplication of the number of koinobori on their personal mast by the number of koinobori on the festival mast.

The player with the highest score will be the winner.

DEMO: Tea Witches

Join Gamer Guide Saunsu as she demos TEA WITCHES at Village Meeple!

The Game

This year's Teaquinox Faire is heating up, and as a contestant, you have four days to prove to the world that your kettle has the mettle to win!

In Tea Witches, tea vendors from across the land must summon and serve lines of witches in order to gain their loyalty, all while sending out magical TeaPups to entice Celebri-Teas and find ways to further enhance their prestige. By growing their loyal fan base, upgrading their hut to maximize service, and collecting all the right tips and toppings they can prove that their tea reigns supreme.

The game lasts four rounds, each representing one day of the Teaquinox Faire. Each day has two phases. In the summoning phase, players simultaneously draw a crowd of witches to their tea hut, being mindful not to push their luck too far as any identical witches will cause a hex, which results in witches leaving the queue.

In the service phase, players take turns sending their adorable TeaPups to various Bootiques in the city to gather toppings and collect tea from the rotating crystal fountain in order to serve witches waiting at their hut. Additionally, TeaPups can help players collect powerful upgrades, attract Celebri-teas, and brew up Special-Teas with bonus abilities. Clever TeaPup placement can also help you complete to-go orders for witches out and about in the city center.

Completing tea orders, attracting celebrities, earning money, and upgrading your tea hut will earn players prestige, and at the end of the fourth day, the player with the most prestige will be declared the greatest tea witch of the Teaquinox Faire!

WE TEACH WEDNESDAY: GLOOMIES

Come join Guide Jess as she demos GLOOMIES!

Our We Teach Wednesdays are a great chance to learn a new game without the pesky rule book reading. It’s also a great opportunity to meet new people or add to your gamer group.

If you participate in the We Teach event, you also can purchase the game at our shop for a 20% discount!

The Game

Meet the Gloomies — little creatures from outer space who like to adorn themselves with beautiful, galactic flowers. Your aim is to grow these radiant blossoms in the first half of the game, then harvest them in the second half.

In the first half, you play cards to strategically place flowers on the board in rows, setting yourself up for good bonuses, then draw new cards. Once that's done, your discarded cards become your deck for the second half of the game. Play cards to strategically harvest flowers from rows, once again trying to set yourself up for good bonuses.

At the end of Gloomies, you receive points for your harvested flowers and any Gloomie decoration orders you've completed.

WE TEACH WEDNESDAY: A PLACE FOR ALL MY BOOKS

Come join Guide Jess as she demos A PLACE FOR ALL MY BOOKS!

Our We Teach Wednesdays are a great chance to learn a new game without the pesky rule book reading. It’s also a great opportunity to meet new people or add to your gamer group.

If you participate in the We Teach event, you also can purchase the game at our shop for a 20% discount!

The Game

A Place for All My Books is a puzzley book gathering, sorting, and organizing game in which players arrange stacks of books in different rooms of their apartment as personal projects. When done, they can admire their accomplishments and gain their rewards – not least of which is renewed energy, which they can then spend to head out into the village - to pick up more books!

Over nine rounds, players visit locations and gather books to complete objectives and earn Victory Points. The player with the most Victory Points wins.

The organizational puzzles are easy to accomplish, with the challenge being how many of them you can accomplish all at once to optimize each "admire" action.

A Place for All My Books includes a solo mode in which you must beat the game's rival: Penelope Eveready, an untiring extrovert who seems to be grabbing all the books you had wanted.

The Game

Chili Mafia is a set-collection party card game for 2-8 players. Compete to assemble the most powerful Chili Pepper Gangs (sets of cards) and become the most respected mafia boss. In Chili Mafia, you will find existing Chili Peppers from around the world that are the main characters of the game. Just to mention a few, such well-known Chilies as the Jalapeño, the Tabasco or the Carolina Reaper clash with each other. To reflect hierarchy, each pepper carries points that are in proportion to the respective Chili Pepper's strength on the Scoville scale. Moreover, the game includes various action and attack cards (inspired by Mafia jargon) that will not necessarily serve your interest. To win, score the most points at the end of the game.
