RPG Sampler Event

There are so many great Role-Playing Game (RPG) Systems out there besides just Dungeons & Dragons. We are so excited to broaden our weekly schedule offerings to include MORE!

But, we need your help! Which do we add?

Join us for the RPG Sampler Event! We will have six different systems — Daggerheart, Call of Cthulhu, Thirsty Sword Lesbians, Crooked Moon, Spelljammer, and Warhammer Fantasy Role Play. Participants will spend 30 minutes at each table with our Game Masters, where they will explain the system, talk about what makes it cool, and give you a small taste of how it works.

At the end of the night, participants will rank the six systems based on their preference on what we should add to the weekly offerings. We likely will only add 1-2, so every vote counts!

Cost is just $10 (the usual RPG price), and will come with a pass for a free admission to a future RPG event. Space is limited, so snag your ticket early!

A HUGE THANK YOU to our Game Masters! They are amazing and passionate people, and I can’t wait to see what they come up with!

DEMO: SANIBEL

Join Gamer Guide Saunsu as she demos SANIBEL at Village Meeple.

The Game

In Sanibel, players walk up and down the beaches of this Florida island city, collecting a wide variety of seashells and carefully adding them to their bags — with your "bag" being a personal player board. As you collect shells, you "drop" them in the bag, letting them fall to the bottom Tetris-style. Focus on the types of shells and where they land, since they score in a variety of ways. Be sure to collect shark's teeth, too, as they're small and can fit in tiny spaces.

Movement on the beach is represented by player tokens that start in a line, with a multitude of tiles splayed into zones on the beach. Whoever is at the back of the line takes the next turn, advancing as far as they wish, then collecting tiles. At the halfway point, players loop around and head back to where they started. At the end of the game, players earn points based on which seashells they picked up and how carefully they arranged them in their bag.

Come Play “Blood on the Clocktower”

Join Guest Gamer Guide Matt as he takes you through the thrilling social deduction game Blood on the Clocktower!

In the quiet village of Ravenswood Bluff, ‌a demon walks amongst you...

During a hellish thunderstorm, on the stroke of midnight, there echoes a bone-chilling scream. The townsfolk rush to investigate and find the town storyteller murdered, their body impaled on the hands of the clocktower, blood dripping onto the cobblestones below. A Demon is on the loose, murdering by night and disguised in human form by day. Some have scraps of information. Others have abilities that fight the evil or protect the innocent. But the Demon and its evil minions are spreading lies to confuse and breed suspicion. Will the good townsfolk put the puzzle together in time to execute the true demon and save themselves? Or will evil overrun this once peaceful village?

Blood on the Clocktower is a bluffing game enjoyed by 5 to 20 players on opposing teams of Good and Evil, overseen by a Storyteller player who conducts the action and makes crucial decisions. The goal of the game is to successfully deduce and execute the demons before they outnumber the townfolk.

During a 'day' phase players socialize openly and whisper privately to trade knowledge or spread lies, culminating in a player's execution if a majority suspects them of being Evil. Of a 'night' time, players close their eyes and are woken one at a time by the Storyteller to gather information, spread mischief, or kill.

The Storyteller uses the game's intricate playing pieces to guide each game, leaving others free to play without a table or board. Players stay in the thick of the action to the very end even if their characters are killed, haunting Ravenswood Bluff as ghosts trying to win from beyond the grave.

If you arrive late to a game, you can enter after it's started as a powerful Traveller character with unusual talents and questionable allegiances. Each character comes with their own special ability and no two players in a game are ever the same character.

Blood on the Clocktower is free with your paid admission.

WE TEACH WEDNESDAY: WINDMILL VALLEY

Come join Gamer Guide Jess as she demos WINDMILL VALLEY!

Our We Teach Wednesdays are a great chance to learn a new game without the pesky rule book reading. It’s also a great opportunity to meet new people or add to your gamer group.

If you participate in the We Teach event, you also can purchase the game at our shop for a 20% discount!

The Game

It’s the late 19th century, and more than 9000 windmills dot the landscape of the Netherlands, some of them purpose-built to dry the lowlands, called polders. In the polders between these windmills are fields filled with colorful tulips—the flower that once was a part of the turbulent history of the first financial bubble but is now simply a quintessential part of the Dutch landscape, especially on the famous Bloemen Route (or “Flower Route”).

In Windmill Valley , a game inspired by the Bloemen Route, you and up to three players take on the role of tulip farmers and entrepreneurs. You will build and enhance your windmills, look for new tulip bulbs in foreign trades or among local vendors to buy and plant, and try to get an edge with hired help and lucrative contracts. Let your blooming fields make your competitors green with envy!

During their turn, players choose the action by rotating the wheels on their windmill board. During the game they can:

  • Enhance their wheels, by adding enhancements, to build their engine

  • Plant tulips in their fields, which will score VP at the end of the game

  • Build windmills on the main board to activate rewards from adjacent fields

  • Hire helpers that provide bonuses for certain actions

  • Get contracts for endgame scoring

  • Visit the local market and conduct a foreign trade

All in all, Windmill Valley is a lightweight game with quick turns, a smart action-selection mechanism, multiple options to build your engine, and a lovely setting.

DEMO: MARKET FRESH

Join Gamer Guide Saunsu as she demos MARKET FRESH at Village Meeple.

The Game

Take the role of a vendor at your local farmers market and strategically stack Produce Crates to maximize your stock. Doing so will earn you points along the way but be mindful of the competition as each produce type will score bonus points at the end of the game for player who cornered the market!

Market Fresh is a stacking, tile-placement game for 1 to 4 players. On a players turn, they take a crate from the supply or one of the available face up crates and add it to their hand. They will then choose one of their crates from their hand to place into their stall and score points accordingly.

Points are scored when you place a crate into your stall. The more produce you match that is visible on your board, the more you'll score. Players earn bonus points at the end of the game for each produce type which they had the most crates of.

Market Fresh includes smaller market stalls and a "Crate Heights" variants which adds extra challenge to the game for players who want to build taller stands!

DEMO: PINCHED

Join Gamer Guide Saunsu as she demos PINCHED at Village Meeple.

The Game

As the wealthy flaunt their valuables, with their infinite money and privilege, the less fortunate of us are left to scheme on how to skim a bit off the top. You are not wealthy. You call your esteemed profession: “Wealth Redistribution” or, in layperson’s terms - burglary, ah - but burglary is such a harsh word - pinching, merely, and you're darn good at it. Unfortunately, so are your “friends”.

Each turn, one player (burglar) becomes “The Mastermind”, planning their perfect, infallible Heist. In the meantime, the other burglars in town have been busy trying to guess where the break-in will be. If The Mastermind manages to go alone, they will take all valuables in that location for themselves, but if the other burglars guess correctly, and show up in the right place, they will be able to pinch some Valuables from The Mastermind’s Heist! The player who steals and sells the most Valuables, and hence “Redistributes” the most wealth is the winner.

WE TEACH WEDNESDAY: CREATURE CARAVANS

Come join Gamer Guide Jess as she demos CREATURE CARAVANS!

Our We Teach Wednesdays are a great chance to learn a new game without the pesky rule book reading. It’s also a great opportunity to meet new people or add to your gamer group.

If you participate in the We Teach event, you also can purchase the game at our shop for a 20% discount!

The Game

A new threat lurks in the land of Arzium. Ember zombies swarm from volcanic lands to the south, their charcoal bodies the walking hives of evil fire fairies. The closest haven is the city of Eastrey, where a powerful artifact protects the inhabitants. You must travel across the desert and the plains, over mountains and through red canyons, helping wandering creatures of every shape and size to the safety of the city.

In Creature Caravan, players build a card tableau of creatures while traveling through a magnificent and dangerous land. Players take turns simultaneously, placing dice on actions on their cards, moving their caravan on the map, and playing new creature cards. Players also compete to trade goods and rare coins in a shared market, search the mysterious white towers, and fight ember zombies as they travel. The game ends when one player reaches Eastrey. The player with the most points wins.

The Game

Dungeon Heroes is a tile-placement rogue-like dungeon crawl. One player controls an adventure party consisting of four heroes: a warrior, a wizard, a cleric and a rogue. The other player is the dungeon lord. He creates the dungeon and controls the monsters within. The goal of the Dungeon Lord is to construct a devious dungeon layout by placing tiles turn by turn. When the Dungeon Lord runs out of tiles, the monsters enrage and hunt down the heroes. The heroes must unravel the Dungeon Lord's scheme by disarming traps, killing monsters early and using powerful magic to reveal hidden areas. Their goal is to locate three treasures to win the game. The Dungeon Lord, quite naturally, wants to eradicate the Heroes...

Our We Teach Wednesdays are a great chance to learn a new game without the pesky rule book reading. It’s also a great opportunity to meet new people or add to your gamer group.

If you participate in the We Teach event, you also can purchase the game at our shop for a 20% discount!

The Game

Welcome to Dreadful Meadows - a land of tricks and treats, where kooky Confectioners compete to be this season's sweetest supplier!

You play a Confectioner, sowing and growing sinister seeds to create the most bountiful candy crops, through crafty candy patch placement. As rounds progress, cultivating your candy crops allows for exciting expansion and experimentation! Conjure up a crew of magic Sugar Sprites who can lend a hand with their abnormal abilities. As you prosper, summon your horrid Harvesters to intensify turnover, or utilize your Candy to discover new Concoctions.

Each game is unique through your choice of Confectioner and the strategies you utilize. Actions and patch varieties are limited, so your success in the meadow will rely on calculated decisions in the expansion of your meadow, the concoctions you create, and how you utilize your Sugar Sprites and Harvesters.

Will your Dreadful Meadow be an abomination, or this season's sweetest sensation?

In a VERY SPECIAL We Teach Wednesday, the Game Designers of OOPSY POOPSY, Chloe Pritchett and Jeff Pritchett, will be at Village Meeple to teach their game! They will have copies available for purchase and signing!

Our We Teach Wednesdays are a great chance to learn a new game without the pesky rule book reading. It’s also a great opportunity to meet new people or add to your gamer group.

With Oopsy Poopsy, you'll be feline frisky as you create unforgettable memories and strengthen bonds faster than a cat chasing a laser pointer! Say goodbye to boring get-togethers and embrace unforgettable moments that will have everyone saying "meow-some!"

Don't miss out on the purrr-fection of Oopsy Poopsy, the Litterbox Edition. Grab yours right meow and let the fur fly!
